St. Mary's Bank
Manchester, NH
This project involved a building expansion and addition of a detached drive-thru structure at the existing St. Mary's Bank branch on Elm Street in downtown Manchester. Northpoint provided all components of the civil/site engineering design and administered the local permitting process through the Manchester ZBA and Planning Board.
Main Street United Methodist Church
Nashua, NH
This project involved an expansion of the existing church on Main Street in Nashua to connect two separate existing historic structures. The building addition connects the main sanctuary with the adjacent educational building and creates a new main entry onto Nashua's downtown corridor.
The project was closely coordinated with the City of Nashua's efforts to enhance the downtown streetscape along Main Street as the entire frontage of the church property underwent a transformation that added landscaping and greenspace to the downtown corridor.
Northpoint worked as part of the design team on this project starting in 2014. We peformed all aspects of the civil engineering site design and coordinated the local permitting process through the City of Nashua.
The project took multiple years of fundraising on behalf of the church, and several different phases of construction, until it was fully completed in 2018.
Liberty Utilities Training Center
Concord, NH
This project by Liberty Utilities involved the construction of a new two-story, 3,864-sf training facility located at 10 Broken Bridge Road in Concord, New Hampshire. This new facility serves as a multi-purpose training center all year round for Liberty Utilities employees and offers a variety of technical training to meet the Federal and State mandated requirements for training, certification and re-certification for both gas and electric employees in New Hampshire, as well as other employees and outside utility contractors located throughout the regions of Liberty Utilities.
Northpoint worked directly with Liberty Utilities and CMK Architects throughout all site design and permitting phases of the project. We provided all components of the civil/site engineering design and administered the final permitting process through the City of Concord Planning Board and NHDES.

Sky Venture/Surf's Up
Nashua, NH
SkyVenture NH is an indoor skydiving wind tunnel located just off the D.W. Highway in Nashua that has been in operation since 2004. In 2011, Northpoint teamed up with owners Rob and Laurie Greer, and with architect Mike Cheever, to begin the planning for a major addition to the popular destination facility. The new addition houses an indoor wave pool known as Surf’s Up. Nearly two years later, after extensive design, permitting and infrastructure improvements, Surf’s Up was completed and opened in late 2013.
Design challenges on this site included an existing sewer interceptor that needed to be relocated in order to accommodate the new building addition. Northpoint served as the lead consultant on an engineering team that worked with the City of Nashua to evaluate options for relocating the interceptor, and then ultimately designing and permitting the proposed relocation.
Northpoint worked directly with the owner and architect throughout all design and permitting phases of the project. Northpoint provided all components of the civil/site engineering design and administered the final permitting process through the City of Nashua Planning Board.
Swenson Granite Company
Concord, NH
Swenson Granite Company has been operating a granite quarry on a 187-acre parcel of land on Rattlesnake Hill in Concord since the late 1800’s. This project involved the construction of a new 32,175-sf, single-story building at the top of the quarry to help modernize the manufacturing process. The new building houses new and modern equipment necessary for the cutting and processing of the quarried granite product.
Northpoint worked with Swenson to develop a layout plan for the proposed building at the top of the quarry. We provided all components of the civil engineering and site design which including a new underground drainage infiltration system and a new septic system. We coordinated the local permitting process through the Concord Planning Board as well as the required State permitting through NHDES.
Avaloch Farm Music Institute
Boscawen, NH
The Avaloch Farm Music Institute (AFMI) was founded in 2011 to join the twin efforts of enhancing classical music culture in central New Hampshire, and fostering the development of professional and advanced amateur classical chamber musicians through a unique training opportunity. Sited on 23 rural acres in Boscawen, AFMI hosts an array of musical ‘fellows’ during the Spring, Summer and Fall seasons.
Northpoint worked as part of the design-build team to develop a workable masterplan for the small campus development on an old farm property. We provided the civil engineering design component for the initial construction phase which included faculty and student housing, a kitchen and dining area, and multiple practice studios, as well as related site infrastructure improvements. We were thrilled to be a part of this unique design project which truly saw a vision come true when the facility opened in Summer 2013.
Liberty Utilities
Londonderry, NH
Liberty Utilities purchased this existing commercial property on Buttrick Road in early 2013 with the intention of relocating and combining other existing facilities in the area into a centralized regional facility. In addition to significant interior renovations, the site work included the construction of a new parking lot, the expansion of an existing parking lot, a new stormwater detention basin, and a replacement of an existing commercial septic system.
Northpoint worked directly with Liberty Utilities throughout all site design and permitting phases of the project. We provided all components of the civil/site engineering design and administered the final permitting process through the Town of Londonderry Planning Board and NHDES.
Bank of New Hampshire
Plymouth, NH
This project involved the relocation of an existing Bank of New Hampshire branch bank in Plymouth to the new Riverside Landing commercial development on Tenney Mountain Highway. Northpoint worked directly with the developer on the masterplanning and permitting for the commercial infrastructure and worked directly with the Architect for the site planning and permitting of the new 2,580-sf branch bank. Northpoint provided all components of the civil/site engineering design and administered the local permitting process through the Planning Board as well as multiple permitting processes through NHDES.
McDonald's
Plymouth, NH
This project involved the relocation of an existing McDonald’s on Route 3 in Plymouth to the new Riverside Landing commercial development on Tenney Mountain Highway. Northpoint worked directly with the developer on the masterplanning and permitting for the commercial infrastructure and worked directly with McDonald’s for the site planning and permitting of the new 68-seat fast-food restaurant. Northpoint provided all components of the civil/site engineering design and administered the local permitting process through the Planning Board as well as multiple permitting processes through NHDES.
Body Design By Joy
Gilford, NH
Body Design By Joy is a personal training and wellness center located in Gilford. Owner Joy Southworth had previously operated the business out of her nearby home. After she purchased this 3-acre lot in the Gilford Common commercial subdivision, Northpoint provided the site design and permitting services for a proposed 2-story 3,840-sf building. We worked directly with the owner/developer throughout all design and permitting phases of the project. We provided all components of the civil/site engineering design and administered the final permitting process through the Town of Gilford Planning Board as well as the NHDES Alteration of Terrain program.
Orchard Christian Fellowship
Londonderry, NH
Northpoint worked directly with members of the congregation and the design-build contractor to develop a masterplan for a new church facility on the site of a scenic apple orchard in Londonderry. We then provided the civil engineering design component for the initial construction phase which included a new 300-seat sanctuary along with full site improvements. Design and permitting for this project was challenging due to the site’s difficult terrain, the aesthetic component of incorporating a scenic orchard into a new site development, and the limited fundraising budget of the congregation. In the end, it was a true team effort that led to a brand new home for this growing congregation.
Tractor Supply Company
Plymouth, NH
Tractor Supply Company is the largest retail farm and ranch store chain in the United States. Founded in 1938, the company operates about 930 stores in 40 states. In recent years they have been expanding within New England and the Plymouth store represents the fifth store built in the State of New Hampshire.
This project involved the construction of a new 19,097-sf store and associated site improvements. Site work included the construction of a new parking lot, drainage facilities, site utilities, storm water management basin, landscaping and site lighting. Northpoint provided all components of the civil/site engineering design and administered the local permitting process through the Plymouth Planning Board, as well as NHDES.
NH Liquor & Wine Outlett
Nashua, NH
This project involved the construction a new 19,810-sf New Hampshire Liquor and Wine Outlet to replace the existing store on Coliseum Avenue in Nashua. The project was constructed in two phases with the initial phase being the construction of the new building which is located directly behind the former building. Once the new building was operational, the old building was removed, and the remainder of the site improvements were constructed. All of the existing site improvements were removed and an entirely new parking area and driveway access was constructed.
Northpoint worked on the design team with ProCon, Inc., who acted as both the architect and construction manager on the project. Northpoint provided all components of the civil/site engineering design and administered the local permitting process.
Dunbarton Family Dentistry
Dunbarton, NH
This project involved repurposing an existing single-family home into a new dentist office. Northpoint worked directly with the owner, Soheila Degieux DDS, and the architect, Warren Street Architects. The site is located on the northeastern corner of the intersection of NH Route 13 (Clinton Street), Jewett Road, and NH Route 77 in Dunbarton, New Hampshire.
Site improvements included construction of a one-way driveway from NH Route 13 to Jewett Road, which provides safe vehicular circulation through the site and access to a new parking lot. An enclosed vestibule at the front of the building, a new septic system design, sidewalk, handicap access ramp, lighting, and landscaping are some of the other improvements made.
Northpoint provided all components of the civil/site engineering design and administered the local permitting process.
Weston Solutions
Concord, NH
Weston Solutions is an international company that specializes in environmental, energy and sustainable solutions for development and re-development projects around the world. This project involved the construction of a new 21,300-sf regional headquarters on a redevelopment lot in downtown Concord. The new building and site improvements were designed to meet Weston’s commitment to sustainable green building and redevelopment practices. The project received LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and represented the first such achievement for a professional office building in Concord.
Northpoint worked on the design team with ProCon, Inc., who acted as both the architect and construction manager on the project. Northpoint provided all components of the civil/site engineering design and administered the local permitting process through the City of Concord. In addition, Northpoint prepared a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) in accordance with current EPA NPDES regulations and provided oversight during construction.
Pittsfield Self Storage
Pittsfield, NH
This project involved the subdivision of a 14-acre parcel of land into two commercial lots and the construction of a new self-storage facility on one of the lots. Northpoint performed the site design for the self-storage facility and secured approvals from the Pittsfield Planning Board for both a Subdivision application and a Site Plan application.
The proposed site improvements included 40,450 square-feet of self storage units contained within seven total buildings and related paved parking areas and drive aisles. The site design for the project included: grading and drainage design, landscape design, utility design, erosion control design, septic systems design and a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP).
There were extensive wetlands on the subject property that made the design of the storm water management system challenging. The drainage design included curbed drives with catch basins and a closed drainage system. An above-ground detention basin was designed to handle storm water runoff from the site improvements.
Pizza Hut
Tilton, NH
Pizza Hut was looking to relocate its Franklin restaurant site. This site was chosen due to its visibility and high traffic along NH Route 3 in Tilton. This lot is part of the Lowes Development project. The site design included a 4,000-sf restaurant and a 1,650-sf adjacent building pad site. The design was challenging due to circulation constraints for the two buildings and several easements on the property.
Northpoint provided all components of the civil engineering design including grading & drainage, landscape & lighting, municipal water and sewer, and erosion control. Northpoint secured all local permits through the Town of Tilton.
