Northpoint selected as consulting engineer for the Town of New Boston (Jan. 2007)

Northpoint was recently selected by the Town of New Boston, New Hampshire to provide consulting civil engineering services for the Town Planning Board.  We will be providing plan review and construction inspection services for new development projects in the Town.  We are excited about the opportunity and look forward to working hand-in-hand with the Town in the future.

Stormwater, Sediment and Erosion Control (Jan. 2007)

Sediment and Erosion Control continues to be a growing item of concern on construction sites.  With the increasing requirements for permitting, at the municipal, State and Federal levels, it is critical for engineers, developers and contractors to recognize the erosion potential of construction sites and make proper preparations prior to and during construction.  With strict guidelines for compliance under the US EPA’s NPDES regulatory program, and with ever-evolving requirements from the State of New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES), the burden on construction site operators continues to increase and is often overlooked. Northpoint has taken an aggressive approach to addressing sediment and erosion control permitting issues, and we offer services to aid developers and contractors in ensuring that their construction sites remain in compliance with all regulatory authorities.  In general, every construction site should have a plan for implementing and maintaining proper erosion control practices throughout construction, including modifying approaches to accommodate evolving site conditions.  In addition, weekly site inspections should be made by a person qualified to evaluate sediment and erosion control practices to ensure that all implemented practices are operating effectively and to identify areas in need of maintenance or repair.
